In December 2022, the cities of Leipzig and Dresden joined forces with local organisations to develop a carbon calculator for the cultural sector that is free of charge and available to all cultural institutions and organisations in both cities.
For the first time, a web tool is available to determine the main emission sources for cultural operations, such as audience travel, catering, touring or the purchase and transport of materials.
The E-Tool Culture is a high-quality and long-term solution developed in accordance with global standards (Greenhouse Gas Protocol). The data is anonymised and stored centrally, so that different years are comparable. There are also numerous additional tools, with a survey tool for quick and easy recording and analysing audience arrivals and departures.
