Greentrack Ghent: the sustainability ‘think and do tank’ of the cultural sector

Ghent – Belgium

Pillar 1:
Ecological transition in the field of culture

Priority 5:
Facilitating connections between local cultural stakeholders

Originally a network of 56 cultural organisations, Greentrack Ghent has now become part of the ‘Gents Kunstenoverleg’ (the Arts Council of Ghent), uniting all stakeholders in the city’s artistic imagination.

Greentrack helps members collect environmental performance data, create action plans, and implement sustainable initiatives, focusing on areas like mobility, waste, food, water and energy.

The organisation collaborates closely with the city of Ghent to reduce CO2 emissions and explore climate adaptation strategies, aligning their efforts to enhance the city’s overall sustainability.

One of the key features of Greentrack Ghent is its ten guidelines for a sustainable cultural scene which serve as the basis for all the sustainable actions taken by the organisation and are embraced by all 56 members.
