Eurocities Sustainable Culture:
A landing page for the Eurocities Lille Call to Action
Eurocities Sustainable Culture is a new website and the main landing page for the Eurocities Lille Call to Action for Sustainable and Inclusive Culture. The platform brings together resources for cities to understand the call and how to sign it, and 100+ inspiring initiatives from peers across Europe turning their commitment to sustainable culture into action.
The Eurocities Lille Call to Action is a political commitment by local authorities to accelerate the ecological and social transitions of cultural policies, projects and programming. It is structured around two pillars and 16 priorities, offering a shared framework that cities can adapt to their local context. Since its launch, the Call to Action has grown into a strong community, with over 60 signatory cities and a network that continues to expand.
The website will be updated regularly as more cities join, reflecting the momentum behind sustainable and inclusive culture in Europe. Visitors will be able to follow updates on new signatories and related developments through the News section.
Eurocities has also published Culture for sustainable and inclusive cities, a publication demonstrating how the Call to Action is being implemented in practice, from reducing the environmental footprint of cultural activities to widening access, strengthening participation and supporting wellbeing. Check it out alongside other useful documents on our resources page.
On the website, these initiatives can be explored through an interactive City initiatives section, allowing users to browse through a menu of examples and find ideas that can inspire local action in their own cities.
Cities for Sustainable Culture is also an invitation. If your city is interested in joining the Eurocities Lille Call to Action, or would like to share a good practice and contribute to the growing repository, we would love to hear from you.
