FeelFlorence is a free application which offers visitors unexpected itineraries. It facilitates the discovery of new experiences including traditional and artisan workshops and recommendations for lesser-known museums.

It goes beyond the historic city centre, extending into the surrounding areas and the metropolitan region. The app aims to bring tourists closer to local experiences and to avoid over-tourism in central areas of the city.

The app was developed by the city and metropolitan area and has since been extended to the 41 local municipalities.

Tourist management is a key challenge for the city of Florence. After the record-breaking year of 2019, with 15.9 million overnight stays in Florence, and the challenges surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of visitors is once again on the rise, drawn by the city’s exceptional historical, cultural, and natural heritage.

In 2024, Florence recorded 10,330,000 overnight stays. Unfortunately, visitor activity remains heavily concentrated in the small historic centre, which occupies just 5 km² within the city’s total area of 105 km².
